Meet our dedicated team.

Any organisation is only as good as it's people. Here are some of the leaders and managers that drive our success.

Senior Management Team

Matt Taylor

Group Managing Director

Matt founded Sano Physiotherapy Ltd in October 2010, launching the company’s first clinic from a single room in a gym in his hometown of Pudsey. He worked clinically within the business until 2018, before stepping away from patient-facing practice following private equity investment.

As Group Managing Director, Matt works alongside the Senior Leadership Team to guide Sano’s long term strategy and ensure the business continues to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients, customers, colleagues and investors. He leads on new business development and mergers and acquisitions across the Group and remains passionate about developing people, supporting progression at every level of the organisation, and maintaining the highest standards of clinical care that Sano was founded on.

“Outside of work I am a family man and enjoy nothing more than spending time with my 2 sporty young children and my (very understanding) wife. I am a keep fit fanatic, a very passionate Aston Villa fan and a coach for several junior sports teams. On a weekend, you will find me standing on a pitch side somewhere!”

Marcus Rogers

Director of Clinics

Marcus joined Sano as employee #2 in 2012, progressing from ‘Finance and Clerical Administrator’ to Operations Manager, Head of Operations and now Director of Clinics.

As Director of Clinics, Marcus is responsible for the strategy, profitability, growth and outcomes across all of the company’s clinical sites, including those of TOPS, Tudor and Sano Physiotherapy. Marcus’ focus is always on identifying and delivering excellence, continually improving quality and leading a positive culture throughout the entire company.

“Outside of work I am a father of 2 wonderful young girls and husband to a long-suffering wife, who is a physiotherapist in the NHS. As my better half, she keeps me on the level while I balance work and more hobbies than is healthy. I am a passionate artist (painter), golfer, PC gamer, musician, technology enthusiast, museum/gallery goer and much, much more.”

Neil Holroyd

Director of Occupational Health and NHS Services

Neil is currently the ‘Director of Occupational Health and NHS Services’ and joined Sano in 2013 as a Junior Physiotherapist whilst working part-time in professional Rugby League. Since then, he has progressed through various clinical roles and transitioned in to a managerial role in 2019. Neil leads our Occupational Health and FCP Services, and has full responsibility for all operations across the Occupational Health and our NHS services. Neil completed a level 7 Senior Leader apprenticeship in 2024, and achieved a MSc Executive Leadership in 2025, both from the University of Leeds Business School.

Away from Sano, I spend much of my time with friends, family and my Golden Retriever, Biffy. I enjoy travelling, socialising, cooking, exercising and particularly running, having recently completed a number of half marathons including the Great North Run. Away from this, you’ll find me watching and supporting Wakefield Trinity (Rugby League) or Yorkshire C.C.C. (Cricket).

Willem Maree

Head of Finance and HR

Willem is originally from South Africa where he attended university and started his professional career in an Auditing firm. Willem and his wife moved to the UK in 2009. He first started working in the private Physiotherapy sector in 2010 and joined the Sano team in 2018. He now oversees all financial aspects in the Sano Group.

On a more personal note, I am married and the father of 2 young twin boys. At weekends I enjoy just about any outdoor activity (following too much screen time during the week). My hobbies include walking, photography, rowing, camping and of course (typical South African) nothing is better than a Braai (BBQ) with family and friends.

Rebecca Overend

Director of Customer Success

As Director of Customer Success, Rebecca leads the strategy, performance and long‑term success of Back in Action UK customer contracts. She holds end‑to‑end accountability for customer experience, contract delivery, retention and growth, ensuring every customer receives measurable outcomes, exceptional service, and sustainable long‑term value. Rebecca is genuinely passionate about improving outcomes for both our customers and, ultimately, the service users who rely on what we do.

Outside of work, I’m a really sociable person who loves being out and about. Most of my free time is spent on the sidelines at one sporting activity or another with my son, cheering him on and definitely not taking part myself! Family means everything to me, and I love spending quality time with the people closest to me.
